AFILS for Hearing Impaired Audience Members.
Overview:
Nextronic introduce the new Digital Assistive Listening system [ NX-DAL ] which offers a range of improvements over existing loop wired AFILS and alternate listening systems, such as Infra-Red and radio based units.
The DAL equipment range is a next generation system which uses 2.4GHz licence-free, technology to give secure high quality wireless audio, without over-spill or interference.
Simple installation of the DAL system means that flooring & ceilings are not affected by loop cables, and there is no need for wall mounted emitters. The DAL system can be easily added to any existing rooms.
The DAL system can be used with a standard induction neck-loop option, and operates in compliance with the BS EN 60118-4 standard for Hearing Loop systems.
The Disability Discrimination Act 1995 (or DDA) states that any business or organisation providing a product or service to the General Public must ‘’provide auxiliary aids and services (such as installing an AFILS) to enable or make it easier to use a service’’ whenever information is verbally required.
Full implementation of DDA Legislation was completed in October 2004. Also, there is a SENDA directive of 2001, relating to accessibility of disabled students in education, which has similar requirements.
